As you might have guessed by now, we’re heavy on the coyote puns. If you’re sitting there thinking, “you’ve gotta be yippin’ with me,” then sorry, maybe this isn’t the group for you. Feel free to find the unsub button.

But if you got the coyote curiosity to read on, let’s get a few of our basic Q's out of the way:

Where do the events come from?

We pick everything for a reason and it’s usually a combo of the following:

  • They’re organized by a reputable group in San Diego

  • It’s been shared with us by trusted leaders in the community

  • We’ve attended the event in the past

  • They raise our coyote eyebrow, and we want to trot over and check it out

Is the Social Coyote a Curator or an Aggregator?

Aggregator: Pulls in everything.
Curator Coyote: Filters for the most meaningful options ✅

We don’t add everything we find to our list. But we do add what our coyote intuition feels are the best things. Each week is different and that's the fun of getting connected in SD.

Why coyotes?

This is an easy one:

  • They live here

  • They’re clever, social, and cool

  • They form packs and generally work together towards a common goal (In our case, it’s getting connected)

  • They look wonderful as AI-generated images

Who am I?

I’m Jonah “the Howl Guy.” I’ve lived in SD for over a decade. I love tech, entrepreneurship and I’ve been “the local ops guy” for a number of large on-demand tech startups.

I’ve also had the pleasure of volunteering at a number of startup focused community groups too.

I enjoy howling about how great San Diego is and yip about connecting people.

There’s a lot going on here, and I want to make sure we all find our packs easily and continue to get out of our caves and into the community.
