🐺 12 Events and a Brand New Challenge
All the San Diego events you should know about to get more connected!
Welcome to the Wild and Free Edition!
Start an Event.
Just do it (please don’t sue me, Nike).
Looking at the event scene, it might feel busy. Some weeks really are. But the reality is, we’re just scratching the surface of what’s possible here in San Diego.
Let me give you an example. Take the North County Founders Mixer (NCFM). Some people travel from the south to attend, spending anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes on the road. More often than not, it’s worth it! The energy is howling, and Hussein has built a great culture around the event.
But the fact that this event is an hour away for some means there’s room for a similar vibe south of the 52. We could spin up a South County Founders Mixer! What do you think Hussen? But hopefully, you get my point about density.
I also see a lot of folks looking for new meetups that aren’t here yet. If you’re noticing a gap, odds are, others are too. The ecosystem is still missing plenty of great gatherings, and you might be the right person to kick one off.
That brings me back to NCFM. It’s simple: location, time, and date. Not everything needs to be a big production. Sometimes, just getting people together on a recurring basis is all it takes.
The last thing? We’ve built a pretty howling distribution system to help you get the word out. Arguably, that’s the hardest part of launching an event. Just post it on Startup Beach, we’ll let out the howl, and boom… it’s mingle time.
So if you feel like something’s missing, or there’s a group that should be getting together, let’s make it happen. The more connections, the better, if you ask this humble coyote.
Enough howling for now. Let’s dive into the week and get connected.

We’re trying to do for tech jobs what we previously did for events.
Take information that’s spread out everywhere and organize it so it’s easy to find. And get this, the very first career coyote has received an offer letter! That’s pretty cool.
