🐺 A Little Coffee, A Long Chain

Let’s get a little more connected in San Diego, this week

Welcome to the Social Coyote!

Have you ever heard of the “random act of kindness” chain? It’s something that often happens in coffee drive-throughs, where the person ahead of you grabs your coffee, and you choose to get the person behind you.

It creates a chain reaction. And the funny thing is that it often costs about the same as buying a coffee for yourself. Only now, we’re adding a little cold foam kindness on top.

Connecting tends to work the same way. We can head to the window and ask for a connection to be made for us, and we should. But we can also connect a few others along the way.

That does two things. It helps the community, and it helps the community understand what we’re working on or how we might need support.

And let’s be honest, it usually comes back around. Even if that’s not the expectation in the first place.

As we said last week, the more we put ourselves out there, help others, and connect people, the more surface area we create for our own success.

I take my Americanos black. What are you having?

Howl yeah, it’s Monday!

If I was looking for a new office in San Diego…

I’d call Fred Grier.

He’s been writing about our tech and life science landscape for years. He knows who’s building where, and which parts of town make sense depending on what we’re building.

He specializes in helping teams find office space, flex labs, and manufacturing facilities.

If you’re thinking about a move or expansion, I’m happy to make the intro.

A few more happenings to have on our radar

Photo of the Week

Last week, we had dinner with a VC who recently moved to San Diego. We talked about how maturing startups, exits, and rooted founders are changing how outside capital views the city.

Howl yeah!
