I asked our San Diego tech community what they’re thankful for this year. Their answers say a lot about who we are as a city, and why it feels so special to build here.

When we read these together, a pattern emerges. San Diego’s superpower isn’t weather or coastline. It’s people who actually show up for each other.

I met Rose years ago at a founder event. She wasn’t there to pitch anything. She was just helping someone with their startup. No spotlight. No stage. Just helping.

That’s the thing about Rose. She shows up. She listens first. She tries to understand what you’re building before she tells you what to change. It feels less like legal work and more like someone joining your team for a moment.

When we talked recently, she said something that stuck with me: “There are a lot of great law firms here [in San Diego]. But if someone wants a smaller, more personal team, we might be their fit.”

It was humble. And honest. And exactly why founders trust her.
