🐺 Feb 5 - Night howls and day prowls

And all the San Diego happenings you should know about

This week’s Social Coyote is brought to you by Remedy PR

If your smart fridge doesn’t work, don’t run a PR campaign (Bill has an epic post about this). If the world needs to hear about you or your product, get Bill on the phone, better yet, chat with him at the next Founders Hike.

When I think about community, a few things come to mind: helping each other solve problems, sharing resources, and lifting each other up. When we build packs around these principles “howl yeah” things can really happen.

A great example of this was on full display at the North County Tech Meetup last week.

Here’s the TL;DR

There’s a concentration of events in the southern part of San Diego. For folks in North County it means braving the traffic while crushing a few episodes of This Week in San Diego Tech News. Some coyotes even curl up in a coffee den to spend the afternoon working instead of braving the traffic. That’s commitment.

Hussein, sensing a gap and maybe craving tech connection, organized the group. The turn out tells us that it was quite needed. In fact, everyone had such a great time that only a few photos were actually taken.

I can’t tell if it was serendipitous or not (let’s give Hussein all the credit), but his venue felt almost perfect. An outside patio, good weather, and tons of spaces for naturally forming pockets of 2, 3 or 4. This led to even deeper conversations and some really solid connections. A howling success.

I really hope more events like this start popping up. I’d be happy to spread the word. Ahhwoo.
