🐺 Getting a Little Luckier Together

Welcome to the Social Coyote!

It’s wild that the work we’ve all been doing together led to a little local recognition. That was never the goal. The goal has always been connection, and increasing the luck surface area of our community.

This is an idea I’ve been a bit obsessed with lately. Luck isn’t random. It’s something you increase through exposure, participation, and generosity. The more we put ourselves out there, the more surface area we create for opportunity to find us.

What’s even more interesting is that we can do this individually, and we should, or we can do it collectively. When we increase the luck surface area for the community as a whole, we all end up a little luckier.

And by luck, I don’t mean finding a twenty-dollar bill on the ground. I mean, meeting someone you can collaborate with. Finding a solution to a problem you’ve been stuck on. Discovering someone building something you genuinely admire. Or connecting with a person who opens a door you did not even know existed.

We can chase it alone, or we can build systems and spaces that help everyone around us find it together, as a pack. When we do the latter, a lot of boats rise at once.

That’s why building The Social Coyote has been so fascinating for me. It’s a small way to help create more surface area for good things to happen.

I’m grateful to be building it alongside you in San Diego.
