It feels important to give to our community without expecting anything in return. We’re not transacting with our city. We’re putting as much good energy into it as we can.

The thing that happens, almost like a howl echoing back through the canyon, is that we all build a reputation for being helpful, and opportunities start to find us. Things do come back around, often even better, and that’s the result of the kindness and time we give.

But here’s the key: this isn’t a trade.

It’s stressful to keep score or track every gift we’ve given. I’d advise not doing that at all. We can close this spreadsheet.

So maybe this week, consider the experience, knowledge, and network we have, and share a little bit of it.

A few small things:

  • Coyote Connector Cap: We have a ton of requests in hats! I’ve placed an order, and instead of selling them, they’ll be a referral reward. We never set out to be hat dealers, but we did set out to connect as many people as possible. If you're in the market for a cap and want to help connect San Diego, here’s your personalized referral code.

  • Coyote Codes: 30% off San Diego Startup Week with socialcoyote30, use the code and join us at SDSW!

Pack Partner Spotlight: Nick from avianu.

Something I love about my friend Nick from avianu. is his range. He’s always creating not just for clients, but for his own enjoyment.

Recently, he sent me a side project he’s been building for a friend… and I had no idea you could even do this.

You can actually buy a home in Japan for $10,000 USD.
Yes, really.

It’s called nipponhomes.com, a real estate app that helps you search Japanese homes without needing to know the language.

So if you’ve ever dreamed of a ski cabin that costs less than your annual trip to Mammoth, now’s your chance.

Nick’s work always reminds me how far a great idea (and clean design) can go.
