Meet Coyo, pro pack networker

I was asked an interesting question the other day:

“How can I find other coyotes when I head out networking?!”

Assuming you are not referring to those wily coyotes who are quite active in the canyons, this is a wonderful question that I haven’t quite solved yet. It’s a great one for several reasons.

I feel significantly more comfortable walking into an event when I see a familiar face because I know I’m in a community of Social Coyotes. I’ve developed a few techniques that, through trial and error (lots of error), have worked for me. But there are probably more.

What if we:

  • Add an emoji to our names on an event signup page? Maybe this one: 🐾 we can find these folks first to say “Hi, Hey, Howl yeah!”

  • Have a way to coordinate beforehand; would a virtual community be helpful?

  • Shout “Howl yeah” upon entering a room and see who responds. (This one is not for everyone!)

  • Wear coyote ears? It could work in October anyway.

  • Add a paw to our nametag? (I like this one.)
