Welcome to the free version of the Social Coyote!

Teaming up with our San Diego friends at

We’re changing the culture of newsletters at the Coyote and we’re now open to all replies!

Here are some of the highlights we received last week. Our hearts are warmed by all the responses.

  • “Testing 1,2 HOWL! 🐺“ Sup Ashok!! Coyote rap?! Turns out he retired after his star performance on The Fresh Brewed Tech theme song. Maybe if we twist his paw enough.

  • Notabelles, a carefully curated, handpicked coterie of exceptional women in San Diego County - comprised of top female executives, thought & industry leaders, and certified badasses, is expanding in San Diego. They’ve added a few happy hours too. Howl yeah! It’s on the list.

  • We met 3 new coyotes who just moved here. Welcome to the San Diego pack.

  • Today's pack partner, Conversion Factory, came from a reply too.

  • A coyote shared 2 new ways to make the pack even “packier”. Tough pun, but it’s true.

  • Oh, and I got a new AI trick to try out.

You gotta love being part of this San Diego community.

Howl yeah, see you out there!

Full buckets are pretty cool, unless they’re leaky

I was playing pickleball with Zach and the Conversion Factory crew. They were talking about the transition of their agency to a fractional subscription model. Quite fascinating how traditional models can shift like this. I won’t say who won the game, but I can say that I was distracted thinking about this new business model.

We have an ecommerce business that takes full advantage of this idea. Everyone is fractional on the team. If we didn’t pull in support fractionally, I would be the one learning branding, marketing, sales, operations and fixing the leaky buckets.

Which I could do, but not at a high level. It’s much better to bring in an expert and use them for what they specialize in.

Alex Hormozi echoes this sentiment, stating that "more advertising isn’t actually the answer, it’s retaining what you already have." Facts!

This is precisely what Conversion Factory does on a fractional basis. Or as Zach says, they turn traffic into revenue. Catchy. I want that.

Zach and the team are quite active in our startup ecosystem. I’d advise connecting with them to gain insights on building brands and increasing conversions.

If you need additional support, they’ll be happy to look under the hood for you. Just make sure you're signing up for Conversion Factory, not a Motivational Murph session.
