There are few things I enjoy more than spending the holidays in San Diego. My mom says it’s zero degrees in Vermont, and we’re over here adding layers because the temperature dipped below sixty.

BRB, turning on the heater so my fingers don’t freeze while I’m typing this.

We really do have something special here in San Diego, and it keeps gaining momentum. The climate is just the salsa on the burrito. Nice to have, but not the whole reason.

The real magic is our collaborative spirit. We build, share, support, and bring others along with us. This fires me up every week when I share events that help connect our city together.

We all have different ways of building our networks. Some prefer curated, private gatherings. Some swear by one-on-one coffees. I’ve built most of mine through free events, asking questions, and sharing the cool things our leaders are building here.

The strategy doesn’t matter as much as the intent. What matters is that we’re each contributing to why San Diego feels the way it does and why it’s becoming more connected every week.

Longtime friend of the pack Neal Bloom said it best: connecting is a team sport. And I couldn’t agree more.

I’m fired up that we’re all on the same team heading into 2026.

I’ll be thinking about next year over the holidays as I take the dog on long canyon walks, excited to keep helping connect our San Diego community.

Howl yeah and happy holidays.
