🐺 Three Coyotes on a Mic

The San Diego events you should know about to get connected!

Welcome to the Social Coyote!

Last week, Neal, Hussein, and I hosted a live stream about connecting in San Diego: Scaling Connection: Turning Networking Into a Parallel Sport to Grow SD.

If you joined us, thank you! If you missed it, here’s the recording.

The origin story of that event was simple. It started with a LinkedIn post:

If I was hosting an event, I’d talk to Hussein Yahfoufi
If I wanted a new office, I’d connect with Fred Grier
If I was looking to cowork, I’d chat with Kelsey McKinny
If I needed a lawyer, I’d call Rose Bowlus
If I wanted to find my tech community, I’d see what Neal Bloom was up to
If I needed custom AI work, I’d chat with Chad Lohrli

That post sparked an awesome comment from Neal that shifted how I think about connecting.

He pointed out that if we want to level up as an ecosystem, we need to activate many more connectors in our community. It’s easy to become a bottleneck, even with good intentions. But if we share what works and empower others to connect intentionally, we all grow faster.

Connecting is a team sport.

When we make quality introductions, we strengthen the entire web of the community. Founders meet co-founders, employees find opportunities, mentors meet mentees, and investors connect with great companies.

Not every introduction will be perfect, but every one helps our ecosystem grow.

We’re uniquely positioned in San Diego to do this. We already have the energy, openness, and curiosity to build a city where connecting isn’t a bottleneck, it’s our shared superpower.

My brother Ti builds applications that drive businesses.

He and his team at Digitizing.io handle end-to-end product development. They take ideas from sketch to launch, whether it’s a rapid MVP or a full enterprise platform.

They were working on a new project called Blez Online, and needed fresh UX/UI design, specifically a beautiful trading card pack-opening experience.

We connected them with Nick from avianu., and he’s been leveling up their design ever since. The result? A slick new experience at Blez Online, built through an awesome collaboration between design, product, and development.

If you need design work, check in with Nick.
If you need site work, talk to Ti.

Or just let me know, and I’ll connect you.
