🐺 What's Helping You Feel More Connected?

The San Diego events you should know about to get connected!

Welcome to the Social Coyote!

Whiteboarding 2026

Just by being here, you’re showing curiosity about the San Diego tech and entrepreneurship scene. Or maybe you just like our odd style of howling.

I view getting connected and our event scene as only one piece of a much bigger picture. As we mentioned last week, attending events is one way to get more connected, but it’s not the only way.

Not everyone here attends events. And that’s okay.

Simply knowing what’s happening, who’s organizing, and where people tend to gather is an important part of understanding how our city is put together. Awareness is a form of connection too.

I once worked for someone who always said, “you’ve gotta connect the dots.” What he meant was knowing who knows who, and then who knows them. In this context, simply knowing who’s organizing groups of people gives us a signal into the networks that are being built across the city.

If we’re hoping to make more connections in a certain industry or area, that gives us a place to start. We know the organizers. And those organizers usually know the core people shaping that space.

At some point, it might make sense to attend one of their events and introduce yourself. But from personal experience, it’s not possible, or realistic, to attend everything listed here in the Coyote.

We all have different goals, availability, interests, and social batteries. Some people are once a week. Others are quarterly. Some once a year. All of that counts.

The picture I hope to paint is this: you don’t need to do everything to be connected. Showing curiosity about what’s happening, and understanding how the community fits together, is already a valuable step.

If you’re ever unsure how to get more plugged in, let me know. I’m happy to help.

And while I wait to hear from you, I’d love your help shaping what comes next. Would you consider sharing a few thoughts about our ecosystem and what you’d like to see in 2026? Your input helps guide what we surface and how we continue to support the pack.

Howl yeah. Thank you for being here.

What’s happening this week in San Diego:

This week is pretty light on tech events.

🍍🌧️ We do have a Pineapple Express storm rolling in on Christmas Eve, which should make things interesting weather-wise.

I’ll admit, I’m grateful we’re not traveling across town for events during the storm.

Stay safe if you’re traveling for Christmas.

A few January happenings to have on our radar 📡
