Maybe you just moved here, and you're trying to figure out who's who.
Maybe you've been here for years, but got heads down and the scene moved on without you.
Maybe you just left the military, a big company, or a career that had nothing to do with tech, and you're trying to find your footing.
A guide who knows the terrain, and a group of people navigating it alongside you.
Here's what this actually is.
I started the Social Coyote because I wanted to get more connected in San Diego, and I figured if I was going to do it, I should do it right.
I wasn't very connected when I started. I'd been working in startups for years inside a small co-working space in North Park, then a warehouse out in Morena, heads down and building communities of home cleaners, delivery drivers, and scooter mechanics.
Never really finding my people.
I was curious about the San Diego tech scene and the startups growing here. Most of the companies I'd worked for were based in New York or San Francisco. I wanted to find the people building right here at home.
So I started tracking tech events, figured out which ones were worth showing up to, and I started going.
I wanted to meet interesting people, find the scene, get to know the organizers, and share what I found so others could do the same. That became the Social Coyote. Howl yeah.
It took me two or three years to slowly build my network and get really connected in San Diego. There's a style to it. A way to show up at an event, how to ask for an intro, and better yet, how to offer one first before you ask for anything. Most people figure it out eventually.
Super Coyote is for the people who don't want to wait. I share the intel I find, the rooms worth your time based on what you're building, and the people you should know in San Diego.
You get someone who spent years learning which doors are worth knocking on, standing next to you when you knock. And you get a pack of others who are also getting super connected in San Diego, figuring it out alongside you.
Most Social Coyote events are open to everyone. This pack isn't. The difference is that you know where to show up, with your pack and intros already made.
It's the shortcut I wish I'd had.
What's in the den.
Member Slack: Where the pack lives between events. Connections, conversations, asks, and intel. #the-den #asks-and-offers #raises-hires-moves #campfire #spotted-in-the-wild #win-lists
Pack Gatherings: Coyote Coffees, early invites, pack-led gatherings, and codes when we sniff out something worth showing up to.
The Howlpha: The weekly deep read on SD tech. Included. Obviously.
Founding rate: Lock in your price now. It never goes up.
Who belongs in here?
People who show up, contribute, and don't just lurk in the canyons.
The person who was deeply plugged in, got heads down for a decade, and is ready to find their footing in a scene that moved on without them.
This is a community for people who want to get connected, know who's moving the pieces in San Diego, and give back when they get the chance.
If your primary goal is to pitch the room, this probably isn't the right fit.
