Those of you who've planned events in the past know how much work it takes.
If you haven't, it's hard to see the behind-the-scenes movements that make it happen.
A coffee is different than a conference, but that's not really the point. Both require someone putting themselves out there and opening themselves up for criticism to connect with others.
It's incredibly easy to have notes about an event. Much harder to organize one.
Now here's something I've been thinking a lot about. Most organizers have an agenda of some kind. Lead gen, brand building, finding their people, or getting more connected.
I sift through this when deciding what makes it into the newsletter and it's not always easy to tell.
The organizers agenda doesn't make the event less valuable. Sometimes it's exactly what keeps an event going. The events with no agenda tend to be the ones that fade first.
And we have an interesting window into communities that have been built, thrived, and gone quiet. It’s not always easy to pass the torch.
Some folks organize because they just like to see people come together. We can often see the difference. And those tend to be the super connectors who know everyone. Doing this work for the rest of us to enjoy.
So here's a simple Coyote Quest for this week: Introduce yourself to an event organizer and thank them for something specific you appreciated. You might be surprised where it goes.
Howl yeah, Coyote Quest completed.

We're keeping this pack small on purpose. The people who fit here are curious, connected in some way, and genuinely interested in helping the people around them. Not because it's good for business. Just because that's who they are.
If that's you, apply to join the pack.
