2025 Founders Fight Club
San Diego Startup Week kicks off Monday and runs through Friday.
Five days, five venues, 65+ events across life sciences, AI, defense, and everything in between.
I’ve been to a few of these now (and believe it or not, helped plan a month-long version back in 2020).
I rarely make all five days. The move is to pick the day(s) that excite you most. I’d focus most on the people you want to meet based on event themes.
The other thing that’s interesting is there is official programming and unofficial programming. Both are cool, and some elevate their usual event. Examples might be Founders Hike or Founders Surf.
The math says, if you can only make one day, get a day. If you are headed to more than 1, the week-long starts to make sense. But remember, this is also supporting a San Diego nonprofit.
Here’s a code you can use! COYOTE30
Sometimes events like this are best to see all your school friends. What does that mean?
These are the folks you love hanging out with at events but might not be close enough to invite to your backyard BBQ or kids' birthday party. Yet.
If you’re open to a goal, I’d say:
- find 1 new and interesting person to connect with at each event
- go slightly deeper with someone you already know.
Accomplish this, and I think the entire event is a win.
Howl yeah!!
