I've had more time than I'd prefer for deep thought. But that's not always a bad thing.

The wise old man or woman has had time to build up their collection of experiences. It's impossible not to do this, as we keep putting ourselves into situations that go either great or poorly or force us to think.

Perfect, so getting old makes us wise. Yes. But what if that wasn't actually the secret?

What if instead, while we're young, we could surround ourselves with piles of experiences. I'm sure there's some calculation.

Many of us have great years ahead and the ability to naturally become wise, if we choose.

I only say choose, because we could ignore lessons and not absorb them into our brains. Which is fine, your choice.

But what if we did the opposite? What if we went on a mission to become wise? We said, bring on the new people, situations, events, and all the things around us, and crank up the wisdom generation.

Could we turn ourselves into what they call "old souls" without getting old?

I hope my quest to find a little wisdom (and feel better) has helped in the tiniest way.

The real thing we need to do is simply be curious, ask questions, absorb responses, mistakes, and struggles, and then power on through our quest to become just a little more wise.

I've said plenty of dumb things out loud, don't make me count, but I think this has helped me become ever so slightly wiser.

What do you think? Can we become wise by packing our day with new experiences? I have to believe it is true.

Super Coyote Curious?

San Diego is easier to navigate when you know someone who already has. Even better when you find a whole pack of people who want to help you do it.

If you've been building something here and haven't found your people yet, that's what this is for.

If that's you, apply to join the pack.

A few more howls:

I added an unsubscribe survey to see why people are leaving. This is great data, especially if the answer is "the newsletter is weird, and coyotes ate my chickens."

One of the most common responses was "I found my pack." Which is actually wonderful news.

But connecting coyotes with their packs is only one of our quests. We're finding companies doing things most people don't know about. The drones that flew in Ukraine were 3D printed here. San Diego is running the second-largest self-driving fleet in the world.

If you've found your pack but still want to stay connected to what's happening in the city, I built a beta site for exactly that.

Check it out if it's your vibe. Or unsubscribe if you're on your way to becoming more connected. Either way, we'll keep howling.

That’s enough howling out of me. See you in the wild!
